I had heard horror stories that this site was impossible to use on mobile, and am pleased to discover it's well within my tolerances. I might make some relatively substantial/long posts here if it turns out to be a place that people actually hang out.

Which hopefully it does! FOSS, permissive social networks are the dream that would put the lie to the proverbial nightmare of the contemporary internet. :-)

Hopefully people will actually hang out here! Siderea, a person who writes quality posts about public health and other issues who Scott recommends, has some guides to encouraging more socialization, which might help. Right now I'm just trying to make sure to comment on other people's posts some.

Heh, that we should be commenting on things is not something that occurred to me. This is a sensitive time and engagement from the community is extra important. I'll try to post some top-level things soon too.
