deusvultureThere's also something strangely eternal-recurrence... just last week I was harvesting some of Scott's short stories from archived copies of his old livejournal (he's a public figure and I'm an anthologist, don't @-or-Web-1.0-equivalent me). So it feels kind of funny to be essentially on livejournal again -- a platform that was already mostly gone when I was becoming cognizant of the internet.
That's a period of longer than a decade. Which isn't much in the grand scope of things, but by internet standards it's grand-sweep-of-history stuff. What will we do, standing where they stood? etc.
("forget about the whole thing once it becomes clear that tumblr isn't shutting down", you say? Shh, I'm experiencing the glory of past civilizations.)
